‘Summer Fun’ Event held for Agenda Kids Club!

The Agenda Kids Club celebrated a ‘Summer Fun’ Event for its members on Thursday 25th August, 2011 at Agenda Bookshop, Valletta Waterfront. Launched in 2006, the Agenda Kids Club currently has over 6,500 members, and aims to make books children’s good friends; friends who will lead them to all sorts of imaginable or unimaginable adventures that the human imagination can offer. We promote reading amongst children through fun initiatives that make reading enjoyable – and this was clearly achieved at the ‘Summer Fun’ Event. Miller Newsprint Malta was the winner of the Digital Printer of the Year at the 2011 UK Newspaper Awards held on Tuesday 24th May 2011. The joint entry was made by The Sunday Times and Miller Newsprint Malta. It was a hugely successful evening for The Sunday Times which picked up more prizes and accolades than any other UK title. Start of operations in Tenerife

The setting up of Newsprint Impresion Digital, S.L. is complete and full scale production is expected to start in August. London goes Digital

Newsfax International London has set up a new Digital printing operation, Newsfax Digital Print Ltd which has just gone live and based at our Stratford, East London, site. Miller Staff Donate Blood

As part of recognising its social responsibility, Miller Distributors Ltd organised a Blood Drive on Thursday 28th April 2011. The mobile blood bank was parked outside Miller’s Head Offices in Luqa for five hours as members of staff made themselves available for 20 minutes to donate blood. Approximately 475ml of blood is given during a blood donation. Each donation helps three patients as each bag is filtered and separated into three products, namely: platelets, red blood cells and plasma. World Kids Colouring Day Celebrated by the Agenda Kids Club

‘World Kids Colouring Day’ is an initiative by Staedtler and is organised every year in many countries around the world with the aim to raise funds for children in need. In 2010, over 750,000 young artists around the globe took part – from North America to Japan and even as far away as Australia. In Malta, the Agenda Kids Club also celebrated World Kids Colouring Day. This year’s event raised funds for children in need in Australia, where many children struggle to reach their potential due to the lack of access to education, healthcare and protection services.
