Agenda Kids Club celebrates World Kids Colouring Day


‘World Kids Colouring Day’ is an initiative by Staedtler and is organised every year in many countries around the world with the aim to raise funds for children in need. In 2010, over 750,000 young artists around the globe took part – from North America to Japan and even as far away as Australia. In Malta, the Agenda Kids Club also celebrated World Kids Colouring Day. Start of operations in Italy.


The setting up of Newsprint Italia s.r.l. is complete and operations will start in April – with a target date of April 15th as our first day. Starting with a site in Rome, Newsprint Italia is a JV with IPS of Germany – a major national German distributor – who earlier in 2012 bought out Messaggerie Internazionali, the leading newspaper, magazine and book importer and distributor in Italy. Agenda Bookshop Celebrates World Book Day


On the occasion of World Book Day, which was celebrated worldwide on Thursday 1st March, the Hon. Dolores Cristina, Minister of Education, Employment and the Family, accompanied ‘Mikiel’, the popular Kids Club mascot, on a visit to St. Monica School in Birkirkara. Gathered in the school library, Mrs. Cristina gave a speech on the importance of reading. She then presented children with a reading related goodie bag including books from Agenda Bookshop. ‘Mikiel’ also paid a visit to Chiswick House School in Kappara, visiting no less than five different classes and giving each child a goodie bag. Dar tal-Providenza Donation


  Miller Distributors Ltd started the New Year with a €6,000 donation made to Dar tal-Providenza. Dar tal-Providenza offers a home with a warm and family-like environment for persons with disability, and currently houses 100 residents between the ages of 9 and 80 years. The home relies on the generosity of its benefactors and public donations to fund the very high level of care they provide. The amount donated represents €3,000 collected through employee wages, which was then doubled by the Directors. Agenda Kid’s Club celebrates it’s 5th Birthday


The Agenda Kids Club celebrated its 5th birthday on Thursday, 10th November, 2011 at Agenda Bookshop, Valletta Waterfront. Launched in 2006, the Agenda Kids Club currently has over 7,000 members, and aims to make books your children’s good friends; friends who will lead them to all sorts of imaginable or unimaginable adventures that the human imagination can offer. We promote reading amongst children through fun initiatives that make reading enjoyable – and this was clearly achieved at the Kids Club’s 5th birthday party. An estimated 100 Kids Club members joined in the activities – including Storytelling, Crafts, Games, Face-Painting, a Magic Show, and a special appearance by Moira Delia together with some of her four-legged friends from Happy Paws. The spirit of Manchester United was evident at Agenda Bookshop – Tigne Point Shopping Mall on Wednesday 26th October 2011, where the football legend Gary Neville had chosen to launch his new autobiography RED. Throngs of enthusiastic Manchester United fans waited patiently to meet the former Club captain and also to have their books personally signed by him. The Honorable Clyde Puli, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth and Sport, opened the event with a speech in which he praised the achievements accomplished by Mr. Neville.
